Historic 65-year-old dive bar reopening under new ownership after being closed since May 2025 due to car crash damage. Owned by Conor Flaherty and Max Perry of Sam’s Anchor Cafe. Undergoing extensive renovations including structural improvements, new flooring, bathroom upgrades, and new equipment.
Mel’s Drive-In
Historic San Francisco diner reopening after fire damage on Feb 3, 2026. Kitchen flue fire caused significant damage, repairs currently underway. Longest continuously operating Mel’s Drive-In location since 1985.
China Basin restaurant
Ambitious indoor-outdoor waterfront restaurant from Hi Neighbor Hospitality Group opening across from Oracle Park. Features fire pits, water views, retractable windows, and seating for 50-60. Menu designed for sharing by executive chef Jason Halverson.
The Cake Shop by Butter & Crumble
Second location of popular SF bakery Butter & Crumble, known for long lines and signature croissants. Owner Sophie Smith announced the expansion on Instagram.
Unnamed Hi Neighbor Hospitality Group Restaurant
New 4,400-square-foot indoor-outdoor restaurant from Hi Neighbor Hospitality Group (behind Trestle, Vault) in China Basin across from Oracle Park. Features retractable windows, lounge, and fire pits with water views. Menu by executive chef Jason Halverson, design by Cass Calder Smith.
Hi Neighbor Hospitality Group waterfront restaurant
Hi Neighbor Hospitality Group opening a to-be-named waterfront restaurant in Mission Bay across from Oracle Park. Will offer fine dining experience with bar and café in 4,400 sq ft space with outdoor areas and fire pits.
Yard House
Yard House opening its third Greater Sacramento location in Folsom, featuring 90+ beer taps, dozens of flat-screen TVs, and rock-themed setting. Will serve lunch, dinner and late-night guests with happy hour Monday-Friday 3-6 PM.
Kat’s Kitchen
New breakfast and lunch restaurant with pantry items and wine service. Moving into former Rick and Ann’s Restaurant location. Owned by Victor and Maya Maravilla. Buildout expected to take approximately three months from late January 2026.
The Lodge
Neighborhood bar reopening under new ownership by Chris Cashin (owner of Boathouse) and Kris Gordon (longtime bartender at Lucky 13). Plans include adding in-house food menu, daytime hours with lighter fare, and banquette seating. Will retain most existing staff and continue food popups less frequently.
