Kowloon restaurant is opening a new tiki bar called Kowloon Tiki On The Beach at Revere Beach. The Wong family behind the iconic Saugus restaurant is expanding with this beachside location.
Moro Mou
15-seat omakase restaurant combining Greek ingredients with Japanese techniques, focusing on seafood and fermented foods. Located in Seaport District, operated by Xenia Greek Hospitality.
Wynn Hotels (Encore Boston Harbor area)
Two new hotels totaling up to 800 rooms to be built across from Encore Boston Harbor casino. Part of $500 million development deal with Wynn Resorts. Plans still need Planning Board review.
MOTW Coffee & Pastries
Community-focused specialty coffee franchise expanding to second Massachusetts location. Buildout nearly complete with final inspections and certificate of occupancy pending. Will serve globally inspired menu including Yemeni chai, Egyptian teas, specialty lattes, and pastries in 1,700 sq ft space with table seating and lounge area.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe
1,611-square-foot Tropical Smoothie Cafe location opening on second floor of Park Center Plaza, with seating for 15 diners. Franchisee also runs Dedham location and is planning additional Boston area outposts.
Golden Crust Bakery
Bakery-and-coffee combination concept replacing Sweet Waffles + Boba in Chinatown. Will be a ‘bakery slash waffle slash coffeehouse’ featuring baked goods, waffle-based treats, and coffee beverages. Still in planning and buildout phase.
Craft Food Halls
Craft Food Halls may open a new location in downtown Boston featuring self-service beer taps, multiple dining areas, and sous vide food hall concept. Proposal includes single large ground-floor room with 2 a.m. closing time.
The MilkShake Factory
Dessert shop franchise expanding to Greater Boston area, moving into former GameStop space in Walpole Mall. Will be first Massachusetts location offering milkshakes, sundaes, root beer floats, and molten cups.
The Allston
Seven-story, 96-key hotel project approved by Boston Planning. Will be Boston’s first hotel under Net Zero Carbon Zoning. To be built on site currently occupied by Advance Auto Parts store. Includes public realm improvements with landscaping, sidewalks, street trees, and pedestrian connections.
The Halal Fusion
Second location of halal fusion restaurant expanding from Mattapan. Will feature customizable rice bowls, chicken wings, sliders, and signature house-made sauces. All meat will be Zabiha Halal-certified. Located in former Halal Grill Kabab & Fried Chicken site.
