Dallas-based exclusive members-only wine club and fine dining concept expanding to Georgetown, DC. Will feature wine cellar access, dining, and live entertainment with seating for 250 and total occupancy of 675. Open 8am-12am daily. Liquor license application currently under review with DC’s Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration.

Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks

Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks has signed a multi-unit franchise agreement for Washington D.C. with franchise entity BIG DMV, a group of experienced local restaurant operators. Multiple locations are planned throughout the District. No specific opening dates or addresses have been announced yet. The Atlanta-based fast-casual cheesesteak brand is in an active national expansion phase.

Giordano’s Pizza

Giordano’s Pizza, the Chicago-based deep dish chain, is opening its first DC location at 600 14th Street NW, taking over the former MXDC Cocina Mexicana storefront. Originally slated for spring 2026, the team now confirms they are aiming to be ready for customers by early summer 2026.

Bistro Francais

French restaurant relaunch by hospitality veteran Hakan Ilhan. 7,500 sq ft space with 225 seating capacity and 60-seat sidewalk cafe. Will offer lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, and late-night menu. Homage to original Bistro Francais that operated 1975-2016.

The Tackle Shop

Nautical-themed retail tackle shop and bar concept opening at Yards Marina boardwalk. Will serve canned beer and cocktails with outdoor patio seating, plus fishing gear and bait. Grand opening planned for May 9 from noon to 10pm with celebrity fishermen, contests and giveaways.

Neighborhood tavern from culinary visionary Sanjay Mandhaiya (behind Karravaan and Pappe) opening in Shaw in the former Passenger space

Bizzeria

Wood-fired sourdough pizza restaurant by acclaimed chef Michael Rafidi, featuring ‘bizzas’ with house-made cheese and 48-hour fermented sourdough, plus Levantine dishes including charcuterie and mezze

Frank’s Wild Years

Bar from the team behind Snappy’s, will serve snack foods, accommodate 69 patrons with sidewalk cafe for 15 customers. Liquor license application filed.

Chef Geoff’s

Chef Geoff’s third DC location opening in Mount Vernon Triangle, spanning 5,500 square feet with capacity for 185 customers. Will feature dry aged burgers, housemade pastas, pizza, and signature dishes. Design by 3877 Design firm.
