Wagshal’s Grand Bodega

Wagshal’s Grand Bodega is a 5,000 sq ft neighborhood grocer/market concept from the historic Wagshal’s Family of Fine Foods brand (founded 1925). The new Downtown DC location will offer catering, grab-and-go dining, fresh coffee, and donuts. Construction is progressing and signage is up. Target opening is around July 1, 2026.

Joe and The Juice

Copenhagen-based juice bar and cafe opening a new location at Union Station DC, in the space previously occupied by Corner Bakery and Le Pain Quotidien. Menu includes juices, smoothies, sandwiches, breakfast bowls, coffee, and tea. No specific opening date available, but signage is up, construction is underway, and staff recruitment has begun.

Andy’s Pizza

Andy’s Pizza is slated to take over the former Sbarro space at Union Station. No opening timeline available. The location will include Andy’s bagel program. Owner Andy Brown has also implemented a custom AI-powered operating system across the chain. Andy’s currently has 14 locations in the DMV region.

Phia

Phia is a new Appalachian grassroots cuisine concept helmed by Chef Brad Feickert, named after his grandmother Sophia. Opening in the former La Mano Coffee Bar space in the Takoma neighborhood of DC. Beverage program overseen by Dylan Greer, highlighting Appalachian-sourced ingredients. Projected opening in August 2026.

Bernadette’s

Bernadette’s is an intimate piano lounge from LA-based Ten Five Hospitality, offering classic cocktails and live music in an Art Deco-inspired setting with burgundy velvet banquettes, antique mirrors, brass detailing, and a restored 1920s Steinway.
