The Roost

Restaurant planned for historic Deluxe Laundry building in Riverside. COA approved for renovations including awning, parking lot, windows, and masonry walls. Originally proposed in 2015, rebranded as The Local in 2023, now back to The Roost name.

Makai Poke & Musubi

Hawaiian poke and musubi restaurant opening in partnership between hospitality investor John Panghulan and Nathan Ferrer. Space is transitioning from a previous poke location with revamped menu and traditional Hawaiian-style poke.

Taqueria Picazo

New mobile taco truck preparing to open in Jacksonville. Plan review documents have been filed and owner confirmed the opening, though specific opening date has yet to be determined.

Kappuccinos Breakfast & Sports Bar

Breakfast and sports bar concept by Keith and Catherine Jones, serving breakfast from 6am, lunch until 1pm, then reopening as sports bar at 5pm with live music. Menu includes Southern breakfast classics and lunch items.

Red Phone Booth

Viral speakeasy with entry through vintage phone booth signed letter of intent for Westcourt project in downtown Orlando. Secret bar serves cocktails and Neapolitan pizzas with membership options.

Magic Smoothies

New smoothie shop offering fruit smoothies, juices, customizable acai bowls and toasts. Family-friendly decor with colorful murals and seating for about a dozen guests. Located next to owner’s other concepts Poke Fin and Rock the Guac.

Crooked Can Brewing Company

Massive 42,000 square foot brewery, canning facility, taproom, food hall, live music venue, and outdoor beer garden opening as part of Hills City Center development. Will house about a dozen locally-owned food vendors.

Tacos & Tequila Cantina

Naples-based Tacos & Tequila Cantina is expanding to The Villages at Eastport Town Center. The restaurant specializes in Mexican favorites and tacos, with a tequila program featuring over two dozen selections and specialty margaritas. Led by Kelly Musico with operating agreement through HMC Hospitality Group.

La Diperie

Montreal-based ice cream shop expanding to Florida. Customers create their own desserts by choosing dippable bases (ice cream, doughnuts, cheesecake) dipped in chocolate/caramel and topped with 20+ toppings. Also serves milkshakes, smoothies, and has vegan menu options.

H&H Bagels

New York City’s famous bagel shop expanding to Altamonte Springs. H&H Bagels filed permits with Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation for new construction. Known for bagels with crispy outside and soft interior, made with unbromated and unbleached flour, boiled and baked on-site daily.
