Urban Egg

Urban Egg, a Colorado-based brunch restaurant, is planning a new location in the Lenexa City Center development, set to open later in 2026. Owner Randy Price, a Kansas City native, recently opened a second metro location in the Northland area and plans to open several more in the area.

Angelo’s Italian is relocating from 5900 E. Central to 550 N. Rock Road (former Quinton’s Bar & Grill space). Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bluhawk

99-room, 4-story Holiday Inn Express & Suites opening at the Bluhawk mixed-use development, adjacent to AdventHealth Sports Park. Part of IHG Hotels & Resorts brand. Developed by Price Brothers (Kansas City). Two additional hotels planned for the site once next retail phase wraps up in spring 2027. Property targets youth sports travelers and event visitors.

The Grateful Bagel

Authentic Jersey bagel store owned by Darryl Hall, named after The Grateful Dead band. Described as ‘a true bagel store’.

Tiki Taco

Kansas City taco chain opening new location in Aspiria Campus. Will be the company’s 10th restaurant. Offers cocktails, tacos and burritos including birria tacos, Korean beef tacos, and Thai chili pork burritos.

Los Laureles — Cocina Economica

Mexican restaurant owned by brothers Adrian and Odiom Gutierrez, former food truck owners. Will serve breakfast and lunch weekdays, plus dinner on weekends. Opening day menu includes carnitas, mole, chile rellenos, and free dessert for visitors.

Stoner’s Pizza Joint

Florida-based pizza chain expanding into Wichita market. Will serve pizzas, stromboli, smoked wings, salads and desserts. Construction starts next month with patio seating planned.

Dave’s Hot Chicken

California fast-casual hot chicken restaurant filing $550,000 permit to remodel building in Greenwich Place. Franchisee Paul Gorman also operates locations in San Antonio.

Local Lime

Arkansas-based ‘fresh-Mex’ restaurant opening in former Bravo! Italian Kitchen location. Will be fourth location nationally and first in KC metro. Coastal Mexican concept with fish-focused menu, fresh salsas made daily, and margaritas with juice squeezed every four hours.

Kiyoshi Omakase

Eight-seat omakase-style sushi restaurant offering 14 courses for $98, with fish flown daily from Japan. Chef Jerry Cao previously co-founded Zen Sushi Omakase in NYC. Soft opening scheduled for April 3.
