Gendusa’s Italian Eatery is relocating from their current Rivertown location to a larger former Messina’s location. The new venue will more than double seating capacity, triple kitchen size, and add 66 parking spaces. Owner plans to add new chef and menu items while keeping regular offerings including specialty pizza.

Farm-fresh cafe expanding by moving across the street from Grand Coteau to Sunset. Closed December 20 and will reopen in new year at larger location to offer more to the community.

Queen Eats Bistro & Bar

Food truck and concessions company Queen Eats & Royal Treats is expanding to brick-and-mortar with Queen Eats Bistro & Bar. They serve Baton Rouge Soul Food including red beans and wings, Cajun shrimp pasta, and pulled pork sandwiches. Have contracts with LSU and Southern University.

Crescent City Cafe

Pay-what-you-can nonprofit café opening brick-and-mortar location after serving free breakfasts from church since 2009. Will serve brunch six days a week with donation-based model.

Santa Picanha

Casual Brazilian barbecue restaurant offering churrasco-style meats by weight, including picanha, skirt steak, and traditional sausages. Owner has been doing catering and pop-ups for over a decade and is opening permanent location after passing inspections.

Historic French Quarter grocer Matassa’s Market expanding into restaurant business with Mediterranean flavors and wood-fired pizzas. Owner seeking zoning change and currently in neighborhood participation program for approval.
