Arizona-based burger chain making Michigan debut. Owner hoping to open in next six weeks from article date. Menu will include same items as Arizona locations plus Michigan-style olive burger. Located in Oakwood Plaza.

Apothecary Espresso & Coffee

Second location of Apothecary Espresso & Coffee coming to Wixom. Owner Miguel Williams is opening near his alma mater area. Menu will be narrow and specialized with everything made in-house including chais and syrups.

Onesto

High-end Mediterranean restaurant with bar, market and 100-seat speakeasy in 12,000 square feet space. Menu features Mediterranean flavors from Sicily, Southern France, Spain and North Africa. From The Current Restaurant Group.

Honey Dirt Coffee

Honey Dirt Coffee is opening a larger cafe location at 359 Livernois in Ferndale, expanding from their current space inside Rust Belt Market. The new location will be larger with high ceilings and plenty of seating space. Interior remodeling is currently underway.

University Weiner

Hot dog restaurant expanding with second location inside Lansing Shuffle. Founded by MSU graduate Ben Pikus, popular late-night spot for students.

Old World Pizzeria

Second location of Saginaw-based Old World Pizzeria expanding to Birmingham. Will occupy former CafĂ© Succo space in two-story building next to farmer’s market. Chef plans to maintain ‘razzle dazzle’ concept while incorporating Birmingham community elements.

Kazoopy’s Pizza and Grinders

Fourth location of local pizza and grinder chain opening in Kalamazoo County. Family-owned business expanding with pickup and delivery-based service, also serving ice cream. Dedication planned for May 3, grand opening May 4.

LivSmart Studios by Hilton

100-room extended stay hotel proposed by Metro Detroit-based Azok Group. Four-story building with 330-350 sq ft units featuring kitchenettes, flexible living areas, fitness room, grab-and-go breakfast, and 104 parking spaces. Planning commission postponed consideration pending zoning variance.

DeVos Place Convention Hotel

600-room convention hotel expansion of DeVos Place, up from previously considered 478 rooms. High-end, full-service hotel intended to operate under a national brand. Project estimated at $354.9 million with 43,000 square feet of meeting space including 20,000-square-foot grand ballroom.
