Italian bar and cafe taking over the former 121-year-old Ferdinando’s Focacceria location. Fourth business from restaurateur Sal Lamboglia, featuring aperitivi, cocktails, coffee, and Sicilian dishes including some recipes from the predecessor restaurant.

Sam’s Japanese BBQ & Hot Pot

Japanese BBQ and hot pot restaurant opening in 6,000-square-foot space in Centereach Square shopping center. Menu features Angus steak, homemade roast duck, and traditional barbecue and hot pot dishes. Second restaurant for husband-and-wife team who operate Sam’s Sushi Bistro in Farmingville.

New restaurant by Bivona family

The Bivona family (owners of Mercato Kitchen & Cocktails and Beginnings) will open a new restaurant at the former Jam location. This will be their third restaurant.

Shin Takumi

Affordable 12-course omakase restaurant opening in West Village, offering 10 pieces of nigiri, a hand roll, and dessert for $58. Third location from owners of Sushi YOLO NYC and Takumi Sushi.

Pies ‘n’ Thighs

Southern comfort food restaurant expanding from Williamsburg to Prospect Heights in a 1,600 square-foot corner space formerly occupied by Pecking House. Serves deep-fried chicken, cornmeal-fried catfish, and desserts including pies.

Modern Japanese restaurant co-owned by Ken Lee and chef Sean Kang, offering hand roll, sushi & hand roll, and signature omakase courses in a 1,400 square-foot space formerly occupied by Flatiron Steakhouse

Paulie Gee’s Slice Shop

Pizzeria location managed by brothers Logan and Kyle Driscoll, former Paulie Gee’s employees. Two-story space with full bar, dining room and rooftop deck. Opening depends on gas meter installation.

Crybaby

Alpine-themed cocktail bar and restaurant featuring Alpine wines, cocktails with Chartreuse, and apres-ski inspired food. 1,200-square-foot space with 70 seats, hours 4pm-2am Wed-Sun.

Kirbee’s

Texas barbecue restaurant by Chuck Charnichart of Barbs B Q and Jonny White of Goldee’s Bar-B-Q. Menu split between both restaurants’ styles, cafeteria-style ordering, open Friday-Sunday for lunch initially. Located in former Peeps Kitchen space in Greenpoint.
