Truluck’s Ocean’s Best Seafood & Crab
Truluck’s is planning to open a new location in Town and Country (Houston area) later in 2026, according to operating partner Chris Davis. The restaurant specializes in prime seafood and crab.
The Dumpling Zone
The Dumpling Zone, known for fresh handmade dumplings, noodles, and traditional/modern dishes, is scheduled to open at Metropark Square in Shenandoah, TX. Opening date has not yet been finalized. Associated with chowbus.com.
Playa Bowls
New Jersey-based açai bowl chain Playa Bowls is opening its first Cibolo location at 513 Cibolo Valley Dr in the Cibolo Bend Shopping Center. The chain specializes in tropical bowls, smoothies, and juices. Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing indicates construction ends in September 2026, with a late 2026 opening anticipated.
Espadas de Brazil
Brazilian steakhouse opening in the former Stem & Stone space. Owner Robinson Figueiredo is drawing on experience from his Austin food truck. The food truck will continue operating at The Boring Bodega, 865 FM 1209, Bastrop. Catering services will also remain available.
On The Rocks Italian Bistro
Fine-dining Italian bistro opening in Old Town Burleson in the former Razoo’s Cajun Cafe space. Sister concept to La Bistro in Hurst, TX. Menu will feature steak, pastas, seafood, fine wine, bourbon and cocktails. Owner Jason Benouared stated the family plans to open ‘later this year’ but no exact date has been released.
Jimmy John’s
New Jimmy John’s franchise location opening in Decatur, TX next to Little Caesars. Hiring began in April 2026, with two positions currently listed. Training takes place at the Northlake location. Team hopes to open by June 15, 2026.
Shake Shack
Shake Shack opening its first Georgetown, TX location at 1320 W. University Avenue. The $980,000 project is a 3,000 sq ft fast-casual restaurant with a drive-thru. Construction began early March 2026 and is expected to wrap by end of June 2026, with opening slated for 2026. Located near Academy Sports + Outdoors and H-E-B.
Mattenga’s Pizzeria
San Antonio-based pizza chain Mattenga’s Pizzeria is expanding to a new brick-and-mortar location in the Marketplace Shopping Center in New Braunfels, TX, taking over a former Round Table Pizza space.
