Undisclosed New Restaurant (formerly Sal’s Restaurant & Pizzeria)
The former Sal’s Restaurant & Pizzeria property at 835 Capitol Landing Road sold for $510,000. New owners Endian Dong and Xiuyun Chen purchased the 2,416 sq ft building and plan to redevelop it as a new restaurant. The concept has not yet been disclosed.

A Wendy’s is coming to Wilson Boulevard in Blythewood, SC, alongside a Publix and additional shopping center development. Quickway Japanese Hibachi
Fast-casual Japanese hibachi restaurant taking over former Kovi Kitchen space in Battlefield Shopping Center. Sign has been installed on exterior facade but construction/prep work still underway. No opening date announced yet. Menu includes hibachi dishes, noodle dishes, bento boxes, poke bowls, and sushi rolls.
Deano’s Trattoria
Deano’s Trattoria is an Italian restaurant set to open this month (May 2026) in Strongsville, OH. Owned by Dean and Bethany Martin of Amore Restaurant Group, which also owns Dean Martin’s Lanning’s in Bath. The restaurant is going into a renovated space formerly known as Italian Village.

Birdhouse Rotisserie Chicken & Market is partially open at 200 Broadkill Road in Milton, DE. The market portion is already open, but the dining room will open in the next few weeks. Owner Ami Rae also owns The Backyard restaurant across the street.
Orijin Bakery
New bakery from Ann Arbor restaurateur Sava Farah, the Pulpo Group, and executive pastry chef Jin Capobianco Gorian (pastry chef at Dixboro Project). Set to open in July 2026 with laminated pastries, savory breads, sweets and other baked goods. Located around the corner from Sava’s in downtown Ann Arbor.
Mezza House Mediterranean Restaurant and Cafe
Mezza House Mediterranean Restaurant and Cafe is coming soon to Downtown Champaign on Church Street, located between Himalayan Chimney and the empty Art Theatre in the former La Bahía Grill space. Will feature fast, fresh Mediterranean food. No opening date announced yet.
Guthrie’s Chicken
Guthrie’s Chicken is set to officially open Wednesday, May 27 at 3100 Western Blvd. Still finishing final touches inside the building. First 100 customers will receive free chicken for a year. Will employ about 60 workers including 40 full-time employees.
