Mediterranean-inspired restaurant by Ballyhoo Hospitality opening in One Winnetka development. Will feature live fire cooking, seafood, and dips. 6,700 square feet with capacity for 200 inside and 40 outside.

Jitters at the Bay

Jitters coffeehouse opening second location inside newly refurbished Bays Tower. Project has been in works for a year, will serve building’s nearly 200 future residents and the public.

Cupio’s

Barbecue restaurant opening at former Steak n’ Shake location, featuring ribs, pork steaks, brisket, fried chicken, burgers and brunch items. Grand opening festivities begin at 1 p.m. on opening day.

Ruby Hotels Chicago

First U.S. location for Munich-based Ruby Hotels, a 412-room luxury hotel in a 1920s-era landmark building. 22-story property featuring ‘lean luxury’ concept with tech-driven style, rooftop terrace overlooking Chicago skyline. Developed in partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts and Berk Properties.

Extended-Stay Hotel

Extended-stay hotel with minimum 90 suites in four-story structure, developed by Pojo Limited Partnership and Sunrise Hospitality Inc. Located on former Howard Johnson’s site.

Foundry Park Hotel

11-story, 156-foot-tall hotel building with 180-200 rooms as part of the $3 billion Foundry Park mixed-use development. Located in Subarea D, bound by N. Southport Ave, W. Cortland St, and N. Kingsbury St.

Woodlawn Central Hotel

Hotel tower as part of Woodlawn Central phase one development, located in a 14-story tower reaching 160 feet in height. Part of mixed-use development that includes residential units, retail space, and parking.

SuSu

Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Asian steakhouse in Chicago’s West Loop, backed by Paul Alqas and Chase Meyer, with Executive Chef Alexander Willis. Located in former Grace space, featuring 6,000 square feet with intimate banquettes and a 12-seat private dining room.

Cache 310

Upscale cocktail bar with 1920s Paris hideaway theme opening in BMO Tower. Features spins on classic cocktails, small plates including caviar and potato chips. Seats about 50 with summer patio planned. From Spearhead Hospitality group.

Summer Moon Coffee

Texas-based coffee chain expanding to Wheaton with oak-roasted coffee and moon milk. Franchised location owned by the Moffitts who also own the Crystal Lake location. Located in same building as Oberweis Ice Cream.
