New-build restaurant that appears to be a rebrand or spin-off of existing Fat Pat’s Bar & Grill brand, with regional restaurateur Mitch Rotolo involved in the development

Fat Back’s Food Shack

Soul food restaurant owned by Lindsey Carrere and family, with chef Larry Carrere creating menu featuring fried chicken, greens, sweet potatoes. Will include limited bar menu with six daiquiri machines. Plans to renovate building facade with mural.

Terrestrial Funk

Unique restaurant-retail concept combining music and food with international menu, small selection of alcohol, live entertainment, and vinyl/clothing sales. Owner previously operated successful record label in Miami.

Respite

Full-service bistro in 7th Ward focusing on refined simplicity with seasonal, made-to-order fare. Menu includes small plates, house-made bread, rotating tartares, Steak Frites, and seasonal proteins. Will offer curated beer, wine, and spirits program.

The Crustacean Club

Upscale Gulf seafood restaurant concept by former Effervescence chefs, married couple Brenna Sanders and Evan Ingram. Will feature upscale preparations of Gulf seafood and has a ‘Join the Club’ membership component for building loyal community.

Firehouse Subs

Firehouse Subs location being planned for former Subway location. Permit filing for minor renovations has been submitted. Will specialize in hot subs with premium meats and cheeses.

Downtown Daiquiri Lounge

Daiquiri lounge opening in former Legacy nightclub space, promising great vibes and a chill spot for downtown Lafayette nightlife

Joe’s Pizza and Pasta Italian Restaurant

Italian restaurant featuring classic pasta dishes, rich sauces, and expertly crafted pizzas made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Part of what appears to be an expanding brand with locations in development in Sulphur and New Orleans.

Maison Courteaux On the Bayou

French-Cajun restaurant concept featuring fresh local seafood and Southern-inspired flavors, located in the dockside Bayou Wharf complex. Will have unique bayou-side views with open-air downstairs bar/deck area and enclosed upstairs dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows.
