The Larrikin

New all-day cafe concept from chef Michael Toscano, who also operates Le Farfalle, Da Toscano Porchetta Shop, Fugazzi, and Blanca Estrada in Charleston. Menu will be coffee-focused with beans from multiple roasters, plus beer, wine, spirits, and ‘hearty but healthy’ food options including grain bowls. Hours will be 7am-9pm. No official opening date announced yet.

Jollibee

Philippine fast-food chain Jollibee is planning 15 new units in San Antonio, TX, targeting it as a key growth market. No specific timetable was given. The brand is actively seeking ‘white space’ for development. Current SA location is at 5033 NW Loop 410. Peter Wright is VP of Franchising for Jollibee Group North America.

UC Food Truck Park

A new six-trailer food truck park approved by Universal City. Owner Subhi Hamideh reached an agreement with the city in January. Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filings indicate construction is about to begin, with completion set for July 2026.

Hunter Road Country Club

Locally owned restaurant and bar owned by brothers Seth and Chase Katz and Benjie Ackerman. No membership required despite ‘country club’ name. Features pool tables, outdoor patio with bar, jukebox, and darts. Kids welcome until 7 p.m. Opening summer 2026.

Khao Soi Cowboy

James Beard Award finalist Nick Bognar’s fourth restaurant concept, an all-day casual Southeast Asian dive bar and restaurant focused on ‘purposefully inauthentic’ Northern Thai and Southeast Asian cuisine.
