Plot Twist

All-day coffee and cocktail bar opening in Plaza Midwood in a former auto garage. 1,627 sq ft space with 50 indoor seats and 30-seat dog-friendly patio. Menu will include coffee, cocktails, mocktails and THC options with house-made syrups. Currently in buildout phase.

Chicken Salad Chick

Chicken Salad Chick and Tropical Smoothie Cafe expected to open in April 2026 in a new joint 4,200-square-foot building on the site of the former Village Inn Pizza on Burkemont Avenue in Morganton. Building being constructed by DDI of Hickory.

Hadramawt Restaurant & Catering

Full-service Yemeni restaurant featuring authentic Middle Eastern cuisine including haneeth (slow-roasted lamb), saltah (traditional Yemeni stew), and Yemeni coffee. Team has been working on project for over a year and is in final approval stages.

Nils Mediterranean Cuisine

Third location of Nils Mediterranean Cuisine opening in downtown Wilmington, taking over the former Pinpoint restaurant space. Chef Tan Uckan from Istanbul will serve Mediterranean fusion cuisine including Turkish, Greek and Spanish flavors. Family-owned business with locations in Fuquay-Varina and Angier.
