Local brewery opening second location in downtown Newberg’s oldest building, formerly home to Newberg Graphic Newspaper. Space will feature beers and food service from adjacent restaurant, plus a stage for music shows. Renovations have been ongoing since March.
Steeplejack Brewing
Portland-based brewery opening second outpost in downtown Manzanita in former Neah-Kah-Nie Bistro location. 1,800 square-foot operation expected to seat roughly 100 people with indoor and outdoor seating. Menu focused on burgers and fried chicken sandwiches along with craft beer.
Bagel-ish
Bagel-ish is a non-traditional bagel concept that will be popping up at Mayfly Bottle Shop. They offer intentionally non-traditional bagels with wild schmears and flavors like Birthday Cake, Cajun Street Corn, and Pistachio Salted Caramel.
James Beard Public Market
Public market featuring restaurant vendors including patisserie, juice bar, pasta spot, Roman-style pizzeria, cider bar, and dumpling window, plus seven-day market selling fresh foods. Located in former Rite Aid building with $35 million development budget.
Sumpter Junction
Beloved restaurant with model train reopening after 6-year closure since March 2020. Brothers Tyler and Luke Brown are renovating and hiring staff. Menu will feature breakfast and lunch 7am-3pm daily. Seating capacity around 96.
Black Rock Coffee Bar
Black Rock Coffee Bar is opening their second Salem location at Kuebler Village. The project is currently under construction as part of a 24.6-acre development that was approved this past summer.
Deadstock Coffee
Deadstock Coffee is opening a new location inside The Hoxton hotel, themed to sneakers like their previous shop. Will feature espressos, iced lattes, and new menu items to be announced.
Rangoon Bistro
Third location for Burmese cuisine restaurant chain. Liquor license application submitted to city. Location will have indoor and outdoor seating. No public announcement made yet by owners.
Sure Shot Burger
Popular food cart expanding to brick-and-mortar location featuring burgers, shakes, highballs, and kegged root beer. Drive-in nostalgia concept with family-friendly atmosphere. Will operate noon to 9 PM, six days a week.
Holiday Inn Express
New Holiday Inn Express with 100 guest rooms, indoor pool, fitness center and small meeting space. Managed by Merete’ with Allen Pike as local manager. Part of Hanna Heritage Place development.
