Comfort Foodies is expanding to Missouri City with a 3,000 square foot location offering Southern Soul food and Dominican-Caribbean flavors. The new location will seat 50-60 guests and introduce a full bar and happy hour offerings for the first time. Founded by Afro-Latina chef Elsa and her husband Jeff Matthews.

El Trompo Loco #4

Fourth location of El Trompo Loco family restaurant chain specializing in authentic Mexican food including Trompo (pork meat cooked Monterrey style), Mexican hamburgers, and baked potatoes. Owner transitioning from food truck to brick-and-mortar in same shopping center.

Honest Mary’s

Second Houston location of Austin-born healthy dining concept opening in new Greenside development. Offers customizable bowls with organic ingredients, no artificial ingredients, no refined sugars, and no hormone-loaded meat. Buildout begins spring 2026.

Alsies Ice Cream Truck

North Carolina-based tech-enabled ice cream truck franchise expanding to Northeast San Antonio region. Will serve Schertz, Selma, Universal City, and Converse areas. Features mobile app for real-time tracking and ordering.

Smokey Mo’s BBQ

Family-owned Texas BBQ chain opening new location in Schertz. Known for oak-smoked meats including brisket, burnt ends, turkey, sausage, and pork belly burnt ends. Over 20 locations throughout Texas.

Paris Baguette

Korean-born bakery cafe franchise opening in Landmark North. Construction starts end of April 2026, wrapping up end of August 2026. 4,500 square-foot space with $900,000 buildout including cafe with sales, dining, and kitchen areas. Serves fresh cakes, pastries, breads, sandwiches, and beverages.

7Brew Coffee Shop

7Brew Coffee Shop planning to open a new 550-square-foot cafe. Construction slated to start in May and wrap up by August. Part of a national drive-thru coffee brand with nearly 500 locations.

Kennedy’s Tavern

Irish pub opening in historic Voight House landmark, featuring live music stage, The Tree Bar outdoor area, fire pits, food truck with Irish food, and 25-person speakeasy called Emerald Lounge. Will serve Fredericksburg wines, German beers, Guinness, and specialty drinks. Co-owned by Kyle Kennedy and Lalita Kennedy with managing partner Joseph Collins.

LoverBoy House Eats

New concept from Box Street All Day team opening in The Pearl district. Will offer morning coffee, leisurely lunch, and cocktails with vinyl in the evening. Construction slated to start in March and wrap up in July 2026.

Kinsho

First-ever dedicated sushi restaurant on Rainey Street, featuring 18-seat sushi bar with omakase option and a la carte menu. Chef Victor Gonzales will guide guests through chef-chosen courses.
