Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood is opening in a north Abilene shopping center with a $250,000 renovation project. This will be their 9th Texas location, specializing in seafood boils, po’boys, pasta, and wings.

Hotel Voeux

177-room boutique hotel blending French and Texas styles, part of Firefly Park development. Hotel will be integrated with the development to encourage guests to explore retail and nature areas. Features connection to wedding chapel venue.

Residence Inn

Proposed Residence Inn at Lakeside Crossing development. Developer agreed to remove extended stay designation and reduce building size by 17%. Marriott has approved a Residence Inn for the location. Town Council decision delayed, next meeting May 4.

Cannon Beach Surf Resort

Surf resort with hotel, three-acre SwellMFG surf lagoon, lazy river, mineral hot springs, and various recreational amenities including skate park, movie theater, bowling alley, and health club. $200 million development project.

Shell Shack

Dallas-based seafood restaurant expanding to Arlington with 3,727-square-foot space seating 161 guests plus 22-seat patio. Features customizable seafood boils, gumbo, and full-service bar. Opening celebration includes crawfish at $7 per pound through May 3, 2026.

Howdy Home Made Ice Cream

Ice cream shop with mission to hire people with special needs. New 1,400 sq ft construction. Company founded in 2015 with 7 existing locations across US.

Susiecakes

Susiecakes bakery opening its 3rd Dallas location in West Village. Construction scheduled to begin July 7 and complete September 7, with late autumn opening expected. Will occupy renovated 1,156 square foot storefront.

Urban Egg

Community-focused daytime eatery specializing in breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Will span 4,257 square feet in a renovated storefront. Construction projected to begin July 7, 2026 and wrap by January 4, 2027.

Second Rodeo Brewing

Second Rodeo Brewing is expanding from Fort Worth to open a new location in the Firefly Park mixed-use development in Frisco. The brewery offers craft beer, food, and live music.
